How to Print Labels From Word (Any Label Printer)
Word's Mailings → Labels tool was built for sheets of Avery on a laser printer, so the moment you point it at a 4×6 thermal or a DYMO it fights you: wrong template, content off the label, everything scaled to a letter page. Here's the clean way to get a Word label onto an actual label printer.
Printing steps
- In Word, put your label content on the page at the size you want: a single label, not the Avery multi-up grid. For a shipping label, set the page under Layout → Size → More Paper Sizes to 4×6.
- Skip Word's Print dialog and its 'scale to fit': that scaling is what shrinks a 4×6 onto letter paper.
