Print Bridge License Agreement

This End User License Agreement (“License”) governs your use of the PaperReady Print Bridge desktop software and any updates to it (the “Software”), provided by Hiltos LLC. By installing or using the Software, you agree to this License and to our Terms of Service. The Software is free to download and use.

1. License grant

We grant you a personal or internal-business, worldwide, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and run the Software on computers you own or control, solely to use it with the PaperReady Service. The Software is licensed, not sold.

2. Restrictions

You may not: (a) sell, rent, sublicense, or redistribute the Software; (b) reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble it, except to the extent that applicable law expressly permits despite this limitation; (c) remove or alter any proprietary notices; or (d) use the Software to build a competing product or in violation of law or our Acceptable Use Policy.

3. How the Software works

The Software runs on your machine, binds to the loopback interface, and exposes a local API that the PaperReady web app calls to enumerate printers and submit print jobs. To let a browser on a secure origin reach it, the Software may obtain and use a loopback TLS certificate for a hostname that resolves to your own computer. The Software sends print jobs to your operating system’s print system; it does not send label contents to our servers during ordinary local printing.

4. Updates

We may release updates that fix, improve, or change the Software. You are responsible for installing updates; some builds may update themselves. This License governs updates unless an update is accompanied by a separate license.

5. Ownership and third-party components

We and our licensors own all rights in the Software. The Software may include third-party open-source components licensed under their own terms; a list of such components and licenses is available on request at support@paperready.studio. Those licenses continue to apply to their respective components.

6. No warranty

THE SOFTWARE IS PROVIDED “AS IS,” WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND. YOU ASSUME RESPONSIBILITY FOR VERIFYING THAT PRINTED OUTPUT IS CORRECT. TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE DISCLAIM ALL IMPLIED WARRANTIES, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

7. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, HILTOS LLC WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES ARISING FROM THE SOFTWARE, AND OUR TOTAL LIABILITY WILL NOT EXCEED US $100.

8. Termination

This License ends automatically if you breach it; on termination you must stop using and uninstall the Software. You may terminate at any time by uninstalling it.

9. Export and government use

You agree to comply with applicable export-control laws and not to use the Software where prohibited. If you are a U.S. government end user, the Software is “commercial computer software” provided with only the rights granted to all other users.

10. Governing law

This License is governed by the laws of the State of Michigan, USA, and is subject to the dispute-resolution and other general terms in our Terms of Service.
