Label Size Calculator

Turn label dimensions into printer dots and pixels at 203, 300, or 600 DPI, preview the size to scale, and copy the ZPL width and length commands. No sign-up, nothing leaves your browser.

ZPL
Dots = inches × DPI. A 4 × 6 label at 203 DPI is 812 × 1218 dots. Printing at the wrong size is the #1 reason labels come out shrunk. PaperReady prints at true size to any installed printer, so what you set is what comes out. Get the free agent →

Frequently asked

What is 203 DPI in dots per mm?
203 DPI ≈ 8 dots/mm, the most common desktop thermal resolution (Zebra ZD/GK, Rollo, many DYMO and MUNBYN). 300 DPI ≈ 12 dots/mm for finer barcodes and small text.
How do I set the size in ZPL?
^PW sets the print width in dots and ^LL sets the label length in dots. Drop the values above into your format between ^XA and ^XZ.
Why does my label print shrunk to a full page?
The app is scaling it to letter or A4 instead of printing at the label's true size. Print through a local agent that targets the label printer directly, which is exactly what PaperReady does.
