Getting started

PaperReady is two pieces: the Print Bridge, a tiny app that runs on your computer and sees your printers, and the web app at paperready.studio/app that you print from. This gets both running.

1. Install the Print Bridge

Download the Print Bridge for Windows, macOS, or Linux and run it. It's small, runs quietly in the background, and binds only to your own machine — it never opens a port to the internet.

2. Open the app and allow local access

Open paperready.studio/app. The first time, your browser asks whether to connect to devices on your local network — choose Allow. That's what lets the web app talk to the Bridge on your computer. See Connect a printer if the prompt doesn't appear.

3. Print your first label

  1. Your installed printers appear in the app, label printers highlighted first.
  2. Pick one and send a test label to confirm size and sharpness.
  3. Compose your label (or drop in a 4×6 shipping PDF) and print — it goes out at true size, no browser dialog.
Printing is free and unlimited on one computer. To sync printers and history across several machines, sign in — see Plans & workstations.
